Raw Walnut Burgers

Gluten free & vegan raw walnut burgers for International Burger Day (May 28th), recipe below.


Ingredients:

~ 2 cups walnuts, soaked 2 hours

~ 3/4 cup carrots, chopped

~ 2 tbsp red onion, chopped

~ 3/4 cup portobello mushrooms, chopped

~ 2 garlic cloves

~ 1/4 red bell pepper, chopped

~ 5 sun-dried tomatoes

~ 1/4 cup fresh parsley

~ 2 tbsp fresh basil

~ 1/4 tsp dried mixed Italian herbs

~ 1/4 tsp paprika

~ 1 tsp tamari

~ 1/2 tsp sea salt


Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender or food processor.

  2. Form into 4 patties with your hands.

  3. Serve as is (soft but delicious), or dehydrate for 3 hours at 110F/45C if you have a dehydrator.

  4. Serve on a bun with your favourite burger toppings (Ketchup à la Raw)!
